The Institute for Nonprofit Practice Awarded $150,000 from the Wells Fargo Foundation for Training Nonprofit Leaders Across New England
Support of the Wells Fargo Foundation to Help INP Train and Connect Over 400 Executives, Managers and Emerging Leaders – 130 of Whom Are Based in New England This Year
Boston, MA – August 19, 2024 – The Institute for Nonprofit Practice (INP), a nonprofit organization that works to build a thriving and diverse social impact sector by equipping leaders with the skills, resources, networks, and confidence to boldly advance their organizations’ missions, is excited to announce that it has been awarded $150,000 over three years from the Wells Fargo Foundation.
In 2024, Wells Fargo’s ongoing support will help INP train and connect over 400 executives, managers, and emerging leaders – 130 of whom are based in New England – helping to bolster sector capacity, free of any financial burden to the leaders or organizations they serve. This year’s cohort of leaders are poised to join INP’s national alumni network of more than 4,000 changemakers driving progress on pivotal issues far and wide.
Founded in Boston in 2007, lNP offers a suite of distinct programs tailored to the unique needs of social impact leaders at every career stage, providing critical support and networking opportunities as they rise in their leadership to create a more effective and equitable sector. This bolstered capacity is essential as those working in the social sector are currently facing increased demand for services, an ever more divided and charged political climate, fraying social fabrics, isolation, burnout, turnover, and economic uncertainty – in need of support, connection, and resources.
Terence Floyd, Vice President of Philanthropy & Community Impact for New England at Wells Fargo, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, “Wells Fargo is proud to support INP in New England, because we recognize the imperative of investing in a strong and diverse nonprofit workforce in local communities. We are excited to support INP’s programming into 2024 and are deeply impressed by the remarkable work INP has done both regionally and nationally to bolster the social sector – and those who lead it – at a time when our communities need it most.”
Yolanda Coentro, President and CEO of INP, expressed deep gratitude for the partnership with Wells Fargo: “In their ongoing commitment to support INP’s vibrant community of social impact leaders who are building the world we all need, Wells Fargo is helping INP’s award-winning leadership development programs remain accessible in New England and beyond,” said Coentro. “As we continue to expand INP’s reach to more changemakers in more communities at no cost to them or their organizations, we are immensely grateful to our partners at Wells Fargo, without whom these transformative developments would not be possible.”
